Satellite LNBs: Re-use gallery |
||||
Satellite TVRO LNBs can be put to several uses, and are very cheap and plentiful these days. Although some early LNBs were multilayer, this era didn't last long, and most units utilise double sided boards fabricated from one of the many modern low cost dielectrics, such as Rogers RO 4003 material. With one side used as a groundplane, access to any portion of the circuitry is best achieved by drilling a hole through the pcb and feeding from the groundplane side.
Just a little drilling and some basic soldering. Nothing more.
The ones that needed a hacksaw Who put that wveguide feed there?
Nice LNB, but why make the groundplane so difficult to get to?
